A indigenous family of 3 were peacefully eating dinner talking about what they will do the next day. The next day, they get a knock by a law officer at their door and they are there to take their child to go to residential schools due to the Indian Act being passed. The mother grieves in pain as they drag her child out of their home crying. The child is then taken to a residential school and cries back for his family while getting hit by the teacher. Going back to the parents, they get approached by the same guard telling them they have to leave their land due to the act not allowing them to own any land. The father, frustrated, tries to vote out the act but can't due to the law. Years later, they reunite again as a family and talk about the horrors and life they had to live through because of this horrendous law being passed.
